Rongoā Māori:

Rongoā Māori is the traditional healing system of Māori - a holistic practice that works with the mauri (life force energy) and wairua (spirit) of the whole person, rather than simply treating physical symptoms.
Elaine’s bodywork lineage comes from Papa Joe, and her practice honours the depth, sacredness and cultural integrity of these ancient healing traditions. Sessions are performed fully clothed on a tatami mat, and may involve connection to wairua (the spirit world), particularly during Miri Miri.

Romiromi

Romiromi is a powerful form of Māori bodywork that stimulates the haemata (emotional release points) and includes assisted stretches to increase blood flow, release deep tension and trauma, and works directly on the emotional and energetic patterns held within the bodies tissues.

Trauma, grief and stuck life patterns are stored not just in the mind, but in the body as well. Romi Romi reaches where other forms of therapy cannot.

Mirimiri

Mirimiri uses tissue manipulation to clear energy blocks and release trauma held deep within the cells and tissues of the body. Working in partnership with wairua (spirit), Miri Miri can involve connection to the client's tūpuna (ancestors), bringing clarity, release and profound healing to those who are ready to receive it.

MiriMiri kōrero (talk therapy) often occurs naturally during the session, which is a welcome and honoured part of the healing process.

Haputanga

Haputanga or pregnancy massage is soft, gentle massage for the pregnant Mama to be, from the second trimester onward. This is a gentle massage to ease lower back pain, relieve swelling in the legs, alleviate bladder and organ discomfort and support Mama's connection to the life growing within her. Safe, nurturing and deeply honouring the profound journey of pregnancy.

kawakawa detox

Kawakawa (Piper excels) is a taonga (sacred treasure) of Aotearoa. Revered in Rongoa Māori for its powerful cleansing, anti-inflammatory and healing properties, kawakawa has been used for generations to support detoxification, reduce inflammation and restore vitality.

The Kawakawa Detox at Pixie Well uses kawakawa-infused preparations applied to the body in a deeply relaxing ritual that draws on the healing gifts of this extraordinary indigenous plant. A beautiful treatment for those drawn to the medicine of the land.
